What is art? Are we art? Is art art?

During my break a few weeks ago, Krista, Andee and I went downtown with some friends to see the Art Institute of Chicago. I love art and I was having a blast seeing all the famous paintings I learned about in art class. Let me give you a tour.
This one is untitled by Pablo Picasso. Flashes weren't allowed but I forgot for this picture.
This is a really famous one by Picasso called The old Guitarist. What makes this one so cool is when you look at it really close you can see the shape of a woman that Picasso painted over.
This is one of my favorite pieces of art. The painting is by Georges Seurat and is called A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. The painting is huge and it is all little dots of paint, no paint strokes at all.
Every body recognizes this painting. It is by Grant Wood and it's called American Gothic. This is mine and Krista's best impression. We're the ones on the left.

How cute is this?

Krista's parents came in town for the weekend to visit, and when they visit we let them sleep in our room and we camp out in the front room. I had a test early on Monday morning so Krista had to take her parents to the airport. When I got home from my test this is what I saw. Krista and Andee sleeping next to each other holding hands. If that's not cute, then I don't know what cute is.

Sledding in a land with no Mountains.

One of the things Krista and I miss the most about living back west is the mountains. We were able to find a small hill to go sledding on to help us feel more at home. We went sledding with our friends Garrett and Mindy. As you can see, the girls had a lot of fun. Andee wasn't quite sure what to think of being outside though. After sledding we had some delicious hot chocolate and then went inside and did what we usually do, play Settlers of Catan. Love that game.
